BMI View: While Ghana will continue to post a current account deficit in 2010, we expect the onset of domestic oil production towards the end of the year to transform the balance of payments. We are forecasting a current account deficit of US$2.1bn (10.9% of GDP) in 2010, followed by a surplus of US$1.4bn (4.6% of GDP) in 2011.
