BMI View: Following revisions to 2008 full-year figures, we have revised our forecasts for the balance of payments. While we continue to see exports of goods and services falling, we now forecast a steeper decline in import costs, leading to a net improvement of the current account deficit from US$2.33bn (11.0% of GDP) in 2008, to US$1.80bn (8.1% of GDP) in 2009 and US$1.77bn (6.9% of GDP) in 2010.
