BMI On The Ground: No Country Is Immune
February 2011 | Economic AnalysisBMI visited the United Arab Emirates in late February, in an attempt to gauge local sentiment and gather insight into ongoing developments in the economy's post-crisis recovery. We met with a host of government related entities, including sovereign wealth funds, economic research institutes, and local chambers of commerce. The timing of our visit coincided with the explosion in violent unrest in Bahrain and Libya, two countries which many had previously thought would be immune to the type of social upheaval witnessed in Tunisia and Egypt.
