Kenya is facing a shortage of nurses and is considering hiring laboratory technicians and pharmacists, according to Public Health Minister Beth Mugo. She added that the health ministry has urged the Public Service Commission (PSC) to change the available positions for nurses to other professionals in the healthcare sector. The shortage of nurses has been attributed to an increase in the number of health facilities constructed through the country's Constituency Development Fund.
