The government of Zimbabwe has signed a memorandum of understanding with an unnamed investor to finance the construction of a water pipeline between the Zambezi River and Zimbabwe's second city, Bulawayo. The city is perennially short of water and the idea of drawing water from the Zambezi has been mooted as a solution for many years.
