We have revised up our end-2011 consumer price inflation forecast to 7.1% from 6.0% previously. Given the ongoing uptrend across the global commodities complex, as food and fuel account for the lion's share of the consumer price basket, we have little doubt that inflationary pressures will be on the rise over the coming months, despite our view that underlying growth throughout the economy is set to slow.
