Constitutional Reforms May Fall Short Of Demands

The relatively high popularity of King Mohammed coupled with ongoing measures taken by the government, culminating with the referendum for a more democratic constitution, will help Morocco weather the political turmoil that started in the Arab world in 2011. Nevertheless, with Arab monarchies closely monitoring these concessions and with domestic opposition movements still not entirely content with the new measures, Morocco will continue to face some instability on the political arena over the medium term.
