The death of influential General Solomon Mujuru changes the dynamic in the struggle to replace President Robert Mugabe as leader of the ZANU-PF party. Mujuru's passing almost certainly shifts the balance of power in favour of Defence Minister Emmerson Mnangagwa who is the leader of a faction allegedly vying with a faction which was fronted by Mujuru and his wife Joice, who is one of the country's vice presidents.
