The death of influential General Solomon Mujuru changes the dynamic in the struggle to replace President Robert Mugabe as leader of the ZANU-PF party. Mujuru's passing almost certainly shifts the balance of power in favour of Defence Minister Emmerson Mnangagwa who is the leader of a faction allegedly vying with a faction which was fronted by Mujuru and his wife Joice, who is one of the country's vice presidents. The general's death also poses risks to the little cooperation there has been between ZANU-PF and coalition partners the MDC-T given that he was thought to be more open to working
