September 2011 | Risk SummaryFighting has resumed in the state of South Kordofan which lies on the border separating Sudan and newly formed South Sudan, between armed opposition groups and the Sudanese army. The SPL-M, the main opposition group in the country, said that its forces had driven Sudanese forces out of an area in South Kordofan called Khuwar Dalib. Officials in Khartoum denied this however.
