The outlook for Jordan's Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) continues to look bleak. Stubbornly high energy prices, political instability - both domestic and regional - and a soaring fiscal deficit have dogged the country's economy all year and the ASE has suffered accordingly. Since mid-January, the index has fallen over 900 points, losing almost 17% of its value and reaching its lowest level since 2005. Given ongoing political and economic uncertainty in Jordan, we are expecting the downward trend to persist and are retaining a bearish outlook on the ASE in both the short and medium term.
