Political activists in Morocco have called for a boycott of the country's parliamentary elections, set to be held on November 25. During a series of demonstrations in Casablanca, organised by the youth-led February 20 movement, protestors dismissed the upcoming polls as representative of the country's 'façade democracy'. Turnout in the upcoming elections - the first to be held under Morocco's recently-reformed constitution, overwhelmingly approved in a July referendum - will be watched closely by the government as an indication of the extent of popular endorsement of the regime.
