BMI View: In line with our expectations, the Bank of Ghana kept the Monetary Policy Rate on hold at 12.50% in December 2011. Although the continued stability of inflation had prompted some speculation that rates would be cut, the MPC opted to maintain the status quo given the buoyant domestic growth environment as well as strong expansion seen in money supply and credit extension.
