Macroeconomic Forecast Morocco

December 2011 | Macroeconomic Forecasts

BMI View: In line with our view, Morocco's central bank has left its benchmark interest rate unchanged at 3.25%, its lowest level in more than two years. The decision, announced on December 21, came as the result of a worsening external demand picture, coupled with a subdued inflationary outlook. We forecast average inflation of 2.0% through 2012, compared with 1.0% in 2011, and are not expecting the bank to make any changes to its benchmark rate in the coming quarters.
