The Ennahda party, the leading party in Tunisia's governing coalition, announced on March 26 that it opposes including shari'a in the constitution. This bodes well for the future of the governing coalition, as Mustafa Ben Jaafar, Secretary-General of the Ettakatol party, a partner in the government coalition, declared that he would withdraw the party from the coalition should shari'a appear in the document. As we see the coalition government maintaining unity over the coming months, we have revised our short-term political rating to 56.0 from 55.4 out of 100, owing to an improvement in our 'policy continuity' rating.
