The outgoing president of the Botswana Congress Party Youth League (BCPYL) Lotty Manyapetsa has called for reform of the political party funding system and equal access to the state media for all parties ahead of the 2014 general elections. He said that a far more inclusive and transparent funding system is needed prior to the next election, citing the funding difficulties faced by opposition parties and accusing the government of unfair practice during election campaigns. After six years in the role Manyapetsa will be replaced by Dithapelo Keorapetse on June 30th.
