The group wants to make sure every patient has the right to access healthcare services. SECTION27 cited reports in the Times newspaper about employee shortages at the Charlotte Maxeke Hospital (CMH). The reports said the workforce is too small, which is affecting services offered by the hospital. They also indicate that the crisis at CMH is related to insufficient budgeting procedures and poor management by the Gauteng DOH.
