The reforms are seen as critical in order to avoid another violent and disputed election in Zimbabwe. However, Mugabe has indicated that he would not support a new constitution already accepted by his rivals. Meanwhile, Zuma said that some progress has been made on the new constitution but minor problems persist. Elections are likely to take place in Zimbabwe within the next 12 months.
