Macroeconomic Forecast Bahrain

April 2006 | Macroeconomic Forecasts

Our Bahrain forecasts are based on BMI's oil price forecasts as of Q106, which assumes an OPEC basket price of US$51.3/bbl in 2006, marginally higher than in 2005 (in contrast to our previous forecasts which assumed a slight decline in oil prices this year). As a result, we now expect Bahrain's GDP to grow by 6% in real terms in 2006. We then expect growth to slow to a still-high 4.5% in 2007 as prices slide marginally.
