January 2006 | Macroeconomic ForecastsWhile data on hydrocarbons exports and import trade can be gleaned from other sources, the shortage of public official data in Qatar continues to constrain forecasting, and most estimates (especially of financial developments and the non-oil sector) should be taken with a wide margin of error. BMI has revised down its real GDP figures for 2004 and 2005 to take latest inflation data into account (prices rose sharply over these two years). Since the Qatari fiscal year runs from March 31, the benefits of the oil boom will show up mostly in fiscal year (FY) 2005/06
