December 2005 | Macroeconomic ForecastsIn November, the government announced it was increasing its US$55bn five-year spending programme by an extra US$5bn. The new funds will be directed at development projects in the south of the country. The spending plan, covering 2005-2009, aims to improve the country’s infrastructure and generate economic growth.
