Macroeconomic Forecast Algeria

February 2006 | Macroeconomic Forecasts

We expect 5.3% growth this year, followed by 5.7% in 2007. According to figures from the National Statistics Office (ONS), inflation in 2005 was 1.6%, much lower than government expectations of 3.5%. The ONS reported that downward trends in housing, transport and communication prices were largely responsible. In light of this data, we have revised our forecasts and now anticipate 2% inflation in 2006 and 2.5% in 2007.
