Armed militias in the east of the country continue to threaten the fragile peace. In addition to the ongoing attacks on villages, the presence of the Rwandan rebel group, the FDLR and the Ugandan Lord's Resistance Army is particularly destabilising as it increases the likelihood of military incursions into the DRC by the Rwandan and Ugandan armies.
