We suggested last month that the July crisis would undermine the government's hold on power, and the re-emergence of opposition figure Michel Aoun, now allied with a strengthened Hizbollah, adds to our concern. With his official website having accused some members of the Siniora government of involvement in the July onslaught - as a means of weakening the domestic opposition - Aoun has called upon the entire cabinet to resign.
