September 2006 | Political Risk AnalysisThe ruling African National Congress Party (ANC) are perceived as having failed to deliver on their promise of gaining control over South Africa's (SA) crime problem. This is despite the fact that police numbers have been increased significantly, training improved, and efforts made to improve the functioning of the courts. Indeed, the government is now spending twice as much per capita on internal security and criminal justice than the world average.
