October 2006 | Ratings UpdateThe popular ACP Kofi Boakye, Director General of Police Operations, was charged recently with 'conspiracy to import and export drugs without license', along with four others in line with recommendations made by the Georgina Woode Committee report. The charges relate to the disappearance of 76 seized bags of cocaine. However, the case has led to a major legal battle in which the legality of the Georgina Woode Committee has been brought into question, having been set up by Interior Minister Albert Kan Dapaahto to investigate the cocaine scandal.
