There are no glaring threats to political stability in Namibia. However, the piece-meal progress of land-reform is a source of real frustration to many of the country's indigenous population. The market based 'willing-buyer, willing-seller' approach has not yielded the desired results, and the government has expressed its concern on how to proceed while avoiding a - Zimbabwe style - helter skelter expropriation of 'white land'. While the ruling SWAPO party, which has been in power since independence in 1990, maintains robust support, lack of progress on this issue could serve to erode credibility.
