Central Bank Struggles To Contain Inflation
November 2006 | Economic AnalysisBMI view: With few non-conventional monetary policy instruments at its disposal, Iraq is failing to contain inflation. Though planned subsidy reductions and fuel import liberalisation measures may take some of the sting out of price rises, inflation will remain one of the key economic blackspots in Iraq.
