No Reforms Envisaged, Deficit To Widen

BMI View: We see the budget deficit widening over the coming years, peaking at 4.2% of GDP in 2009 as a result of slowing growth, lower oil prices and high spending. However, a steeper than expected drop in oil prices could be very worrying indeed, given the country's dependence on energy-derived revenues.
