Following the uproar over the death of Jordanian militant Abu Musab al-Zarqawi in Iraq last year, the execution of former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein has also caused a stir in neighbouring Jordan, reinforcing once again the dangerous proximity between the two countries. Around 2,500 people turned out in support of the deceased leader, shouting slogans such as 'Muqtada, you are the enemy of God' (in reference to Muqtada al-Sadr, the Iraqi Shi'a cleric and politician).
