Morocco's political reform progress, albeit not revolutionary, is certainly more impressive than any other by regional standards. The country has taken a lead on extending women's rights as well as promoting a more liberal political environment though taboos such as discussion of Islam, the royal family and the Western Sahara dispute remain.
