After vice-President Atiku Abubakar was sacked late last year, resulting in his privileges being revoked, he has taken his case to the courts. The Court of Appeal in Abuja referred his case to the Supreme Court, stressing that constitutional issues may be involved, but the latter has now referred the case back down to the Appeals Court. The fall-out between President Olusegun Obasanjo and vice-President Atiku Abubakar thus continues to cause damaging confusion, at a time when Nigeria's delicate and immature political structure faces the challenge of presidential
