February 2007 | BMI ViewIf all goes to plan, 2007 should be a year of positive progress for Nigeria: a relatively democratic election in April, continued privatisation, fiscal prudence and reforms to the business environment, and a gradual improvement in the situation in the Niger Delta, are all possible, even likely, features. Even though conditions are likely to worsen slightly, with a slight slowdown in global growth and expected dip in oil prices, it should be another good year for the country that has largely led the way in Africa's bid for international investor attention.
