February 2007 | Economic AnalysisBMI View: The government has managed to get approval for US$41bn in expenditure, promising to target much of the new outlays at productive sectors of the economy. These ambitions may be disappointed, if previous years are anything to go by. However, oil receipts should be sufficient to stave off a fiscal crisis in 2007.
