March 2007 | Macroeconomic ForecastsAfter an impressive 2006, Moroccan growth is expected to slow down to 3.2 in 2007. As a result of recent reports regarding poor agricultural harvests, we have had to revise our generally bullish growth forecasts down, though expansionary fiscal policy in an election year should help stimulate expansion somewhat. With over half the population employed in the agricultural sector, which accounted for 13.7% of GDP in 2005, the economy remains highly vulnerable to unpredictable climatic conditions. As such, we will review our forecasts as we receive more information on the current harvest and weather expectations.
