March 2007 | Macroeconomic ForecastsWe have revised our 2007 budget deficit target down to 1.1% of GDP, from 1.6% of GDP previously, after the 2006 data surprised on the favourable side, showing a deficit of just ILS5.5bn (0.9% of GDP). This easily outperformed our own forecast of 2.0% of GDP, and the government's even more conservative prediction of 3.0% of GDP.
