We now see a strong possibility that parliamentary elections will be held within the year, with Likud the most likely beneficiary. An Angus Reid poll taken on March 12 found that 72% of respondents said they no longer wanted Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to continue as prime minister. Asked who would be the most appropriate prime minister at this point, Likud leader Benjamin Netanyahu came out top, with 30% of the votes, compared with Olmert's 3%. Latest polls also show that Likud's support has risen from already elevated levels since Netanyahu weighed in on the issue of Olmert's leadership, saying
