April 2007 | Macroeconomic ForecastsDespite 2006 growth coming below expectations, and a further dip in the rate of economic expansion anticipated for this year, we remain confident on the Saudi economic outlook, owing to healthy current account and budget surpluses as well as ongoing diversification efforts. Growth should average over 4% annually over the forecast period, though inflationary pressures remain a concern. The cost of living index released by SAMA rose to 2.98% y-o-y in January.
