2006 Growth Over 5% - On A Solid Track
April 2007 | Economic AnalysisThe latest figures released by the Tunisian Statistics Institute show real GDP growth came in at 5.4% in 2006, slightly higher than the preliminary figure released in recent months (5.2%) and closer to our original forecast of 5.8%. Indeed, Q406 data presents a solid growth picture, backing up our view of sound fundamentals and a sustainable growth path for the North African economy. As such, we expect the country to maintain elevated levels of growth over the forecast period, with annual expansion averaging 4.7% into 2011.
