March 2007 | Ratings UpdateWindhoek is one of the most stalwart friends of the Mugabe regime in Zimbabwe, but the general population and businesses are not so supportive. Zimbabweans, thought to be easily numbering tens of thousands, have flooded into Namibia, most are unskilled, and include sex-workers, and their presence raises concerns about increased levels of crime and diseases such as TB (the country has one of the highest infection rates in the world), HIV/AIDS, and other problems such as animal diseases.
