May 2007 | Risk SummaryMorocco''s relatively tolerant and somewhat more open political environment alongside general policy continuity means the country scores fairly well in terms of short term political risk in our new ratings system. Despite concerns regarding upcoming elections, when the Islamist opposition Justice and Development Party is expected to make a strong showing, we feel the threat to the country''s reform process and overall stability is limited. That said, income distribution, high unemployment and a still restrictive political system constrain the long term rating.
