The May 28 meeting between Iran and the US to discuss Iraq was a momentous moment considering that the two sides have not had a formally acknowledged face-to-face meeting since the Islamic Revolution in 1979. Accusations and counter accusations continue and so do the hawkish rhetoric and sensationalist headlines regarding the possibility of a military confrontation.
