June 2007 | Ratings UpdateMorocco's relatively high short-term political rating reflects our view of the country's ongoing stability. In fact the one area in which the country scores badly is unemployment - which came in at 10% in Q107 - given the consequences this has on social stability. The authorities are aware of this and have plenty of projects in the pipeline including programmes to increase the number of engineers and skilled workers in the country. Moreover, Morocco's relatively more open political system boosts its long-term score, though there is still room for some major improvements on this front.
