June 2007 | Risk SummaryWe remain sanguine that upcoming parliamentary polls due to be held in September will present minimal risks to Morocco's reform progress despite fears over a strong showing for the opposition Islamists, the Justice and Development Party. Essentially a coalition government will be necessary given the country's proportional representation electoral system. Moreover, ultimately the king will remain the final decision maker.
