The Angolan government has recently approved the development plan for the Capanda Angro-industrial Growthpoint in northern Malanje province, which is intended to promote food self-sufficiency and create a surplus for export. Agriculture Minister Pedro Canga said that the project will reserve a development area for the protection of rural communities and he foresees the creation of 63,000 jobs. If the development is successful, it should aid rural communities in the area and boost employment among them - lessening the downward drag that unemployment poses on the country's risk
