While we are confident that the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) will retain its parliamentary plurality after the July 22 elections, we maintain our caution that a majority is less assured, with a coalition scenario certainly on the cards. Much will depend on whether smaller opposition parties such as the Democratic Party (DP) and Youth Party are able to exceed the 10% vote threshold required to enter the grand national assembly. Though we highlight that a Republican People's Party-Nationalist Movement Party (CHP-MHP) coalition is a key risk to future convergence reforms, we believe this to be an unlikely scenario,
