In spite of Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri's refusal to call a parliamentary session, the tribunal of those accused of involvement in the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik al-Hariri looks set to go ahead without parliamentary approval, with the UN having asked the Netherlands to host the special court at the Hague. If the opposition lets the matter lie, realising that the tribunal will go ahead no matter what, then this could be good news for stability.
