Botswana

The two main opposition parties, the Botswana Congress Party and the Botswana Alliance Movement, have more failed electoral marriages than a Hollywood diva. They are again courting each other ahead of the 2009 general election, but are finding it difficult, as usual, to agree on joint candidates at the local constituency level. The ruling Botswana Democratic Party is a sure-bet to win another term.
