December 2007 | Ratings UpdateOur short-term political ratings have remained steady this month. Although terrorist activity remains a threat, this is already factored into our score, as is the risk of public unrest. Aside from these obvious weaknesses, Algeria could also make improvements to its policy-making process in order to improve government stability. At present, the passage of policy can be slowed by opposition from other government entities, while bureaucracy can also slow the implementation of policy by national, regional and local bodies.
