New Ratings System
January 2008 | Ratings UpdateSlight changes in our political risk ratings this month are due to the implementation of our new rating system for Tanzania. Under the new system the short-term political risk rating moves down to 70.8 from 74.0 and the long-term rating moves down to 61.9 from 64.2, although the ratings reflect differing criteria and are not directly comparable. The new ratings system highlights strength in policy-continuity, with this component scoring 85.0 and 80.0 in the long and short-term respectively, and weakness in the scope of state, with this component only scoring 30.0 in the long-term.
