Sudan's President Omar al-Bashir is set to begin an official visit to Turkey on February 4. During the three-day stay, al-Bashir plans to meet Turkish President Abdullah Gul to discuss bilateral relations and boost political and economic ties between the two countries. The Turkish Ambassador to Sudan has welcomed the visit, saying it will improve bilateral relations. The Sudanese president will brief the Turkish administration on progress made toward solving Sudan's various disputes, including that of the western Darfur region.
